Forty Plus Employment Skills
This course is exclusively for unemployed Brent residents over the age of forty, who require information, advice, guidance and support in the form of customised training, to help them find work. The training includes initial assessment of your skills and experience, followed by an intensive two-week training programme covering personal career goals and objectives, identifying skills and transferable skills, motivation, developing a professional CV, completing application forms, and interview techniques. This is done with reference to the expectations of employers and as a result, many of our clients are successful in securing employment.

The tutors use a range of materials and media to deliver the training, including videos and printed materials. All students have full access to high-speed broadband connected computers, which allows you to put what you are learning directly into practice!
On completion of the course, you are allocated a dedicated recruitment and training advisor, who is on hand to help you search for and apply for jobs. Additional support includes regular progress reviews, help with application forms, researching companies and mock interviews.

Depending on your needs and level of prior attainment, we offer two numeracy skills courses.
Maths 4 Living is offered to help equip you with the essential numeracy skills needed to deal with day-to-day life; such as managing your finances, understanding utility bills and getting to grips with bank statements.
Maths 4 Employment is a higher level numeracy course that has been developed to give you the key numeracy skills demanded by employers. This includes decimals, weights and measures, percentages, fractions etc.
Both the Maths 4 Living and Maths 4 Employment courses are not only there to improve your skills but also to help you find work.
