From Learning to Making a Difference: Jacky’s Journey with New Challenge

At New Challenge, we are always proud to see our learners grow in confidence, develop new skills, and move forward into meaningful roles. Receiving positive feedback and seeing real life outcomes is exactly why we do what we do, and Jacky’s story is a wonderful example of this impact in action.

Jacky joined New Challenge looking for “something that was going to push my brain into achieving something within a set deadline”. Like many adult learners returning to education, she wanted both structure and challenge, alongside the opportunity to rediscover her ability to study and succeed.

The course proved to be a turning point. It helped Jacky rebuild her confidence in returning to study, carrying out research, and absorbing new information while working towards clear objectives. With supportive guidance and a clear framework, she was able to re engage her academic skills and apply them in a purposeful way.

These newly strengthened skills soon translated into real world opportunity. Jacky has since moved into her current role as a Citizens Adviser with Citizens Advice, where she now supports others by providing guidance and practical help within her community. She is currently working with CAB and plans to explore alternative part time employment after August 2026.

Jacky says she would absolutely recommend the course, praising the tutor’s balance of encouragement and guidance while allowing learners to work at their own pace and explore new knowledge with supportive backup when needed.

Stories like Jacky’s remind us how powerful adult learning can be, not just in gaining qualifications, but in restoring confidence, opening doors to employment, and empowering people to make a difference in the lives of others.

We are delighted to celebrate Jacky’s achievements and look forward to supporting many more learners on their own journeys of growth and success.
